Hoist Power and Control Distribution (PCD)

At iStudio Projects, our ETC Hoist Power and Control Distribution (PCD) boxes and raceways are engineered to provide convenient and reliable plug-in locations for any ETC hoist within the Rigging Control Series. Designed for seamless integration into theatrical, commercial, and performance venue rigging systems, the PCD lineup ensures safe and efficient distribution of both power and control signals to motorized hoists. Whether deployed as individual plug-in stations or multi-point raceways, these units are built for quick installation, structural durability, and long-term operational reliability — making them an essential component of any professional rigging infrastructure.

Product Description

Hoist power and control distribution (PCD) boxes and raceways provide convenient plug-in locations for any ETC hoist.

  • Available as single plug-in boxes or raceways with multiple plug-in locations
  • 3-phase 20 A Twistlock power connectors for both 208 V and 480 V applications
  • Control signal runs on a single Cat5e or better cable
  • Quick and easy installation
  • Power Connection: Connect hoists using the 20 A, 3-phase plus ground Twistlock connectors. Ensure voltage compatibility — 208 V for PCD-F models and 480 V for PCD-H models.
  • Control Signal: Run control signal using a single Cat5e or better cable connected to the clamp-style connector terminals.
  • Circuit Breaker: Each plug-in point includes a motor-rated circuit breaker adjacent to the power connector. Models ending in -FP do not include circuit breakers — ensure external protection is provided.
  • Wire Termination: Plug-in station primary feed terminals accept 18–13 AWG wire. Raceway terminals accept 4 AWG–300 kcmil for mains feed or 22–8 AWG for discreet feed.
  • Raceway Installation: Raceways ship in pre-wired 6-foot sections. Splice sections using the included hardware and mount using appropriate Type 11, 12, or 13 hanger brackets based on wall or ceiling orientation.
  • Hanger Brackets: Brackets support the raceway only — not rated for pipe support. Mounting hardware is not supplied; the installer is responsible for selecting appropriate fasteners.
  • System Riser: Up to 24 motors can be connected per MCX run. Up to 4 E-stop buttons can be chained. Power cord from Powerhead to PCD is 8′-0″ (2.4 m); Data cord is 8′-0″ (2.4 m); Remote control device cord is 50′-0″ (15.3 m).
  • Environmental Limits: Operate within 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) and 30%–90% relative humidity (non-condensing).
